The SR-56 Connector DEIR is out with thousands more pages of information on impacts to Carmel Valley and Torrey Pines... One interesting point: It appears the One Paseo DEIR Traffic analysis relied on the best case version, the Direct Connectors. If any other option is picked for the SR-56 connectors, traffic on Del Mar Heights Road will increase by 4,000 to 9,000 trips per day, making the One Paseo gridlock even worse!
Carmel Valley was envisioned as a “self-contained” neighborhood, with roads designed for local use, yet more than half the users of One Paseo will be from outside our community! Why is Kilroy creating this regional facility in our neighborhood? Read more...

An excellent video on the impact of One Paseo on the local area. It's only a minute long, just watch! The video was created by a local resident who just happens to run a video production and post-production company (www.SDMovie.com). Thanks, Michael!
It's hard to know where to start when commenting on the One Paseo DEIR. I'm working on some handy guides, but for now, I'll just post this quick list of documents that might help! Read more...
The Carmel Valley Recreation Council, a community volunteer group formed to provide the City of San Diego with local community input on City Parks, decided to comment on the Recreation Element of the One Paseo DEIR because of perceived errors in the parks analysis. You'd think this would be the perfect group to comment, as the members are very familiar with the local parks and their use. The item was added to the agenda and the meeting was announced at last week's Planning Board meeting, which was attended by representatives from Kilroy. Somehow, in the short time between these meetings, the City decided it wasn't appropriate for the Council to comment on the DEIR! Read more...
